Welcome!

Hey everyone!
Welcome to my blog, bellydance guru! I love belly dance and I think it is a great exercise for ALL women! So I decided to start this blog so that I could share it with all of you who have not had the pleasure of taking any belly dance classes, also for those of you who would like the opportunity to learn the basics in the privacy of your own home. For those of you who do belly dance, it's always good to go back to the basics once in a while :)
I think belly dance is so wonderful because it is a low impact exercise that teaches body awareness and control, while being fun, feminine and empowering! (plus you get to wear fun outfits) :D

I am a mostly self-taught belly dancer, I do not claim to be a professional. But you don't have to be a professional to have fun and look good doing it, and that's the point of this blog! I learned most of my techniques from purchasing instructional DVDs and from watching the professionals perform. So I decided to compile the things I have learned into this blog so all of you can get started belly dancing without having to invest in expensive videos or classes.
There are a lot of instructional belly dance videos out there that are a complete waste of money! Believe me, I think I found them all, haha! There are some wonderful videos too but you end up spending a lot of money trying to find what you want. I am going to try and save you some of that time and frustration. Once you have tried out some of the basics with me then you can go on and search out a class near you or buy some DVDs from some of the professional belly dancers out there.

I am going to start with a series of short videos covering the foundation movements in belly dancing to get you started. After that we can go on to more difficult movements, how to combine movements together, as well as how to make your own routines. I hope to share some lifestyle tips as well.

Always keep in mind: Belly dancing is about being healthy, loving your body and appreciating it.
Moving your body is caring for your body. Caring for your body is the the most important thing you do every day. Without your body you couldn't get anywhere or give anything to those you love.

Don't hesitate to let me know what you think. And I hope you all enjoy the videos and keep coming back for more!
